The research into the codes and conventions of short films is proficient, but at the low end of the band. At present, the way it is presented and the depth of analysis is certainly not excellent. While I criticised your use of youtube comments last year, it showed more depth of analysis and more creative use of technology. Your research into target audience is excellent and I expect this element to achieve a level 1 if you continue to reference your focus group during the production process. I may be being a little thick, but I can’t find a storyboard or screenplay. Without these, your planning section should only achieve a level 1. I am being generous and saying that the rest lifts it to level 2, but you really do need to fix this (either post your script and storyboard or make it clear where to find it.) So, add scripts and add a little more depth to your research into codes and conventions. Check out the exemplar blog for the short film. The film is not great, but the planning and evaluation are very good.
I'm pasting the same comment I put on Amy's as a lot of what I've said there applies so please read through it and then this "final" R&P mark could change. I do however think that the extra planning on yours does do just enough to lift it into level 4, so your final mark for R&P is 16 not 15 as Amy's. This can change if you read and address the copied comments below.
I can't see exactly what you've changed as you haven't posted an entry explaining these changes as requested! However, there is some excellent stuff here. What I think stops this being a level 4 is firstly some of the random and irrelevant pieces on the ancillary research (as discussed but still not removed!) and the fact you haven't really addressed Haywood's comment about depth to initial codes and conventions research. Therefore the final mark for R&P is 15/20-but if I'm missing something or you'd like to argue this ( not far from level 4 to be honest!), then I'm open to discussions but only when you've posted an entry explaining such changes and then emailed me. Otherwise final mark for R&P stays at 15/20
